Why this website? Why 1 Cor. 13? Why the LUVMUG? When the idea of LUVMUG came to my mind I had a different passage of scripture in mind, but I began to think of other passages of scripture on love. I soon came to 1 Cor. 13. When I started to read verse four {Love is patient and kind} I was stopped. There was a little sting as I was convicted of my shortcomings in patience and kindness. My next thought was that this is what I want to be. I believe it is the desire of everyone. Like the lawyer in Luke 10 who prompted Jesus to give us one of the most famous parables in the gospels; {The Good Samaritan} we are all willing to justify ourselves when we haven't loved our neighbor as we ought, but there is really no argument against “patient and kind”. The purpose of this website and the LUVMUG is to remind all of us to be more patient and kind. We will get some help from some dead men as well as some contemporary scholars. We will start with a sermon from Charles Spurgeon.
